Age 6 - 12 months

Here are some products I love for this age range - some of them make life easier, some are travel specific, and all of them have been tested out by me and mine.

Greetings, fellow jet-setting parents of The Kid Goes! From curiosity-sparking toys to on-the-go essentials, these picks will make your adventures with your tiny explorer a breeze. And yes, they're handpicked with love for this solo parent tribe!

I am just getting this site set up, so please check back soon for more gear recommendations.

Better than socks!

I bought a pair of these for every foot size over the months of my kiddo’s first year. They are perfect for the littlest of feet, and actually stay on those pudgy extremities and the rolls where the ankle should be. In my opinion they are far better than socks! The seller is wonderful and makes custom designs and monogrammed pairs, along with a bunch of other cute baby products.

Best lite carrier

The Baby Bjorn carrier is one of the best baby travel products out there. It folds up to almost nothing so it's easy to pack around, it is comfortable to wear for long periods, and absolutely best of all, it can be easily donned and doffed by the person wearing it. As a solo traveler, this is imperative. No weird, shrugging, shifting, how come the baby is crying now, hip throwing, baby holding, which shoulder does the strap go over, where's the damn buckle, jumping up and down, now we're all crying, someone help me, baby carrier dances.

A great pacifier

My kiddo never took to a pacifier really well, but when he wanted one, he wanted it RIGHT NOW. When traveling, I find that the added size of an object can be totally worth it if it makes that item easier to find in a pinch. That’s part of why I love these WubbaNub pacifiers. The soft plushie attached to the pacifier makes it easy to find, and does double duty as a stuffy in times of distress (everyone needs something soft to snuggle sometimes!).

My favorite Target diapers

I think every parent has a fave diaper, and these are mine. I found them to be absorbent, affordable, packable, and comfortable for baby. I think the best thing about them is that they are available everywhere (in case you forget them and need to grab some) and they are unscented (I hate the smell of scented diapers).

The best wipes for all situations

Just like diapers, I think you either love or hate scented wipes. I loathe them. So, when I found Water Wipes, I knew we would go far together. They smell like exactly nothing with a hint of citrus and they work wonders on dirty bums and faces, and messes, and adult faces, and armpits, and really everything. The other nice thing is that they come in different package sizes, and they are pretty affordable.

Stroller for everyday use

If you have a little space to spare in your car, or heck, even if you just don’t mind winding it through an airport, this stroller and carseat combo is pretty much bomb proof. It’s not the lightest, or shiniest stroller combo out there, but it will last for as many kids as you throw at it and it’s a nice ride to push around. It’s got good storage and great cup holders for everyone that might need one. Overall, the Graco system is a good one, and this combo is a solid purchase. I used it for A LOT of our travels.
