Where I Go, The Kid Goes - Welcome!

Hello, fellow solo parent adventurers! If you've stumbled upon this corner of the internet, you're likely a solo parent in search of adventure, laughter, and the perfect balance between travel, work, and parenting. Well, you're in good company because here at The Kid Goes, we're embarking on a journey that's as unpredictable as it is fulfilling.

I'm Anne, a mostly solo mom navigating the twists and turns of life with my young adventurer by my side. As I share our stories, I hope to inspire and connect with those who, like me, are weaving the delicate dance of parenthood and wanderlust.

What do I mean by a solo parent? My partner works in a different state and is away from home more than 50% of the year, every year. I know this is a very different set of circumstances than being a divorcee or widow with children, but I think some of our experiences may have some crossover. I will generally refer to myself as a solo parent here, and use it as an inclusive term for all the parents out there who are mostly on their own with their kids.

So, if you are solo with your kiddos more often than you are with a partner and the kiddo, this is a space for you.

The idea for this website came from the realization that life doesn't come with a roadmap, especially when you're a solo parent. Yet, in the midst of diapers, bedtime stories, and school pickups, I yearned for something more—a passport stamped with memories, tents full of laughter, and the pure joy of discovering the world through the eyes of my little one.
